242HD Swap Questions

I snagged a 242HD and driveshaft this weekend from a guy parting his WJ on CL this past weekend. Paid $275 for both. I have a few questions:

1. I just need the TC and Driveshaft, right? His shifter bezel was broken, so Ill hold off on that for now.

2. He said he replaced the Transfer Case about a year ago. This one looks to be rebuilt, as the bolts holding the case together aren't OEM. Should I crack it open and see if its ok (I don't even know what Im looking at inside a T case)?

3. The rear output seal is ripped and I need to replace. Cant seem to find it at the part stores around here. Anyone know the part number?

Thanks!

1. Depends what drive train you have stock. There is a long good thread on this forum. You can read that for the definite answer.
2. If you have it out the jeep, yes, crack it open. May even want to upgrade the chain. You can search here for what looks good or bad by searching 242 rebuild.
3. Check this diagram http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f310/...-swap-1110810/

The front seal for the 242HD is
05019020AA
and the rear seal for the 242HD is
05019026AA
