2004 jeep grand cherokee stuck in first gear

My jeep won't shift out of first gear, error code p0720. I replaced the output shaft speed sensor and the vehicle drove perfectly although check engine popped back on. I drove around for a bit and all was well. I parked the vehicle and restarted it and have same issue. The fact that the transmission is capable of shifting properly tells me that the transmission is physically fine and my issue must be sensor/computer related. Also 6mo ago I replaced the governor solenoid and oil pressure sensor inside the trans because of shifting issues. That was an easy fix. Basically, I have no sensors left to replace... any ideas suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

It could be the Governor Pressure Sensor and Solenoid here is a link to a great write up on how to fix.

I do know that on the chrysler minivans if the battery is just a bit low the trannys will not shift (stay in first gear). I am unaware if the jeeps do the same thing - but it maybe a possibility.

I believe the transmission is a 42re. There is a sensor further up the transmission, is this the input shaft speed sensor? It is on driver side top of trans by the fluid pan.
