2002 wj two wheel drive ..transmission whine

2002 grand Cherokee... 4.0 liter. Automatic. When from stand still
Transmission whines till it shifts into third gear...the pitch gets higher with
Speed....it returns when slowing and tranny downshifts.... It feels like it shifts abruptly also..
115k miles on it...tranny fluid is full and looks good...any help
Is appreciated...
Thank you
Rick

First I would ensure your kickdown cable is adjusted properly. Easy to do takes les than a minute. Youtube it for how to

adjusted the kickdown cable....didnt really take care of the shift (pushing the cable towards the driver)...the whine is not as bad if you are on the throttle a bit..is there a limit i should worry about? or just go further till there is a negative consequence? thank you for the help
