2001 wj limited cruise control.

So my cruise control recently went out. First place I turned to was jeepforum. Searched and found out the vacuum lines could be the issue. I replaced the pieces that connect with the throttle body. Still didn't work. The cruise control doesn't grab immediately but grabs after a few seconds. Which makes me rule out the brake sensor (i think). So my next option would be the throttle position sensor. Does that sound right or should I check something else first?

Thanks.

When you turn cruise on and then press "Set" your accelerator pedal should depress a little (at least mine does). If your TPS is bad, then i guess there should be some other symptoms as well? For example when mine was on it's way out, the engine was surging up to 2k rpm at startup, tranny would shift hard from 3rd to 2nd gear... also if i turned cruise on it would constantly shift gears (in&out of OD). With the new TPS everything seem to be just fine, I replaced it a little over a week ago and did a lot of driving since, no problems to report.

When I hit "set" the pedal does not press down until the mph have gone down about 3-5 from where I initially hit set.

anybody have a vacuum line diagram of where the vacuum lines are suppose to go, all the vacuum lines that go to the cruise control modual behind the pass headlight are gone i cant trace them to anywhere, where there might be a break or crack.

Under the battery tray, easy ish to get at after removing passenger side HL. Small piece of 1/4 " hose is probably compromised. I replaced mine and Bam now my vents on the dash work too ! Nothing better than a 2.00 fix to solve two problems seemingly unrelated.

I had this exact same issue on my 01 WJ limited. I didnt think much of it until i had the front bumper off doing some other work to it. As mentioned above, there is a small black box mounted under the battery tray/passenger headlight. In my circumstance, there is a 90 degree rubber vacuum tube coming out of it that was severely cracked up and definitely leaking. I wasnt planning on repairing that at the time and it was late at night so no stores were open, i just wrapped it tightly in electrical tape hoping for the best. The next time i drove it and hit the cruise it took a little getting used to because the cruise actually kicked in immediately and i could feel it pulling the accel pedal and it stayed rite at the speed i set it. Heres a diagram of it...kinda crappy but it gives ya an idea of what to look for.
