2000 Grand w/V8

Ok,

I've read a bunch of posts but nothing really answers my question, at least that I have found.

I'm considering a 2000 grand cherokee as a D.D. I have a car trailer with brakes on both axels, I tow a YJ to a couple or three events each year.

I've seen the tow capacity on the grand is around 6000, my YJ and trailer are below that, I believe together they are about 5000 LBS.

My old DD/tow rig went bye so now I need a DD and a tow rig, will this Grand do the job safely?

Thanks Falkon,

I feel stupid, I didn't find that in my searches. Must have used the wrong keywords.

Have you weighed your YJ and trailer to verify that number?

That sounds a little low.

You might be closer to 6k lbs.

I have pulled my TJ a few times with my WJ and its not fun. I do not do it anymore. I drive the TJ or its towed with something different.
