2.7crd starting issues

Hi All ran 3k miles up on the WJ now v happy only job left to sort is the blender door.... I noticed last week that when parked facing up hill it starts for a second then cuts out after it has stood for a few hours and it is slowly getting more difficult to start when left for several hours.. not a problem while in daily use almost seems like fuel is dropping back over time I would assume this is either a valve ? or low pressure pump ? possibly tank sender ? I doubt its the high pressure pump or glow plugs as it starts straight off but then dies and then takes a few goes to pull fuel back through. and only when stood for several hours so there is obviously fuel in the high pressure pump it then it is used at first crank dies and has to w8 for more to be pushed up before it starts again and runs ok.. any pointers appreciated as this will only get worse ... regards to all the Limy
