1999 WJ 4.7 Knocking noise

i have a 99 wj and before the nocking issue would go away with thicker oil.. now it is so bad that i added the thickest oil and when i drive it sounds like it will knock out of pllace so i dont drive anymore. i have two questions . what is knocking and since my piston rings are most likely worn (oil consumption sucks when normal weight used) and the knocking issue were can i get a good low price MASTER rebuild kit?

I pieced one together on ebay. Cost right under $1000, and got a crank kit from Autozone.
