1999 jeep grandcherokee 4.0 no start

Oringal issue was no fire to #3-#4. Replaced coil pack and oil pan . trys to start pops and spits. Checked and reset cam timing no change, connector to coil looks good. Codes p0353 than later got codes p0351 p0352. Almost starts sounds like a pop corn maker.

Check the wires inside the wiring harness going to the coil were it curves around the back of the head/valve cover ....known to get cracks in it there from tight curve.

Sounds like you need to double check the cam sensor and make sure the timing is correct. If you have a haynes book it will tell you how to make sure it in time. It's rare but can happen that the teeth on the camshaft wear and the cam sensor will jump time when it's turning over to start. I have only seen one do this and had to replace the cam and lifters and the cam sensor assy to fix it but it has happened. I rebuilt a 2000 grand with a 4.0 and got the cam sensor in 180 degrees out and it popped and spit and had to pull it out and reset the cam sensor as the hayes book showed and it started up and ran after I did that. Like said above check the wiring at the back of the valve cover too...

1999 jeep grand Cherokees had a coil that only work on that 1/2 year. New coil I bought was wrong. Fires on #3 not #1. Rewired tests good
