03wj pinion angle adjustment

03wj pinion angle adjustment. where do i read it with the protractor level? in otherwords where do i stick the magnetic level? and it is adjusted by the upper control arm on the drivers side right? ron

if it has a standard u joint then simply compare the angle of the driveshaft to the angle of the yoke. Ideally you want the difference between them about zero. All you should care about is the difference between the two readings and it should be zero or only 1 degree difference.

Find a flat spot on the driveshaft to get a reading

then put a decent sized socket on the end cap of the u joint side of the diff yoke. make sure it sits flat on the cap, only on the cap and is pointing straight down. put the gauge on the socket to get a reading. That one is a little tricky as it wants to rock a little. When you do it you will see.

Some people want to bias the reading since the yoke wants to drop under power. Also if a lot of weight gets in the jeep it changes the angle.
