00 Jeep Grand Cherokee Valve Cover Gasket 4.0 replacement?

Here my question my valve cover gasket is bad is leaking do I need to fix it right away or can it wait until December ? I don't want to spend 48.99 dollars on a gasket I would much rather fix the A/C first.... Having the valve cover leaking can it cause damage to the engine lifter? I always keep up with the oil level thank!!

Yeah, $26.99 for the felpro gasket last I checked at advance. May well be cheaper at rockauto too.

Use felpro gasket. Replaced mine on the '98 ZJ without issue. Would suggest you degrease the engine around the gasket prior to removing the Valve Cover. This will assist with keeping dirt, grime, etc from getting into the engine while the Cover is off. read that on another thread prior to replacing mine and it helped a lot. When you re-install the Valve Cover, tighten the bolts from the inside, moving out, so the cover seals properly.

Good luck to you...
