WK2 Subwoofer Replacement?

The factory subwoofer is okay, but it's not quite "thunderous". The shape of the space it's in seems to limit the possibilities of what could replace it, but I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions? I'm trying to avoid adding a separate speaker box. Ideally, something more powerful would just go in there.

Not trying to enter bass competitions or anything, just want to crank up the Metallica without the distortion I'm getting now!

Thanks,
DT

Someone used to sell an upgrade that fits in the same spot, off hand I don't recall who made it. Did you do a forum search for subwoofer? I think there is a thread somewhere where the cavity is stuffed full of fibre and the speaker itself is replaced.

I would have posted a link, but forum says I'm not worthy until I post more. Google search it. They are about $650. Need an amp to go with it. I had one in a different vehicle and it was great.

They seem to be available from just about anyone that sells car audio. Crutchfield has a $700 price tag on it. Reviews say they are awesome when coupled with a decent amp.

Wow, that looks pretty sweet. $699. Time to get OCD on reviews! Thanks.
