Took the opportunity to snap some photos of our newest Jeep, while in California for the holiday with their nice weather.

Love that color! I'd have ordered mine in the forest green if I didn't already have a forest green ZJ. Enjoy!

Thanks. Almost everyone thinks it's black but we love it. Need to pick up some recovery hooks for the front, it's a little too polished looking and needs some attitude. I'm glad I debadged the front Jeep and the back, limited and 4x4, still trying to decide if I want to pull the Grand Cherokee down the sides. I do want to try and find a black chrome, Jeep badge for the back though. Liking your diesel?

Yeah, it is a really dark green color (moreso than my ZJ), but definitely beautiful IMHO.

Yep, I'll need to add the skid plates and tow hooks, since Summits can't be ordered with them. Not going to debadge mine, but I do have a couple of badge changes I'm going to make.

Ha, ha! Not yet, as it was finally loaded on a railcar at the plant yesterday and left the Detroit North Yard this morning. Should have it around mid-month or so; I have to fly to Houston to pick it up and make the road trip back to SoCal. The deal I got was well worth it, so I'm happy. Soon I'll have a 2 Jeep garage, as I'm keeping the ZJ.

Lotta good looking WK2's in here

Thankfully they're making so many of these things that in a couple more years a lightly used one will make an affordable replacement for my wife's '03 WJ. I came really close to picking one up the other day. 2011 in silver, 3.6, dark slate/black leather interior, 30k miles for $22k. Pretty much a newer version of her WJ (minus the V-8).

However, I (and her) really lust after a Trailhawk with a diesel

His: '00 WJ 4.7 Limited- Some stuff

Hers: '03 WJ 4.7 Laredo- Some more stuff

I have a question for you de-badgers out there. Are the badges glued on or do they penetrate the sheet metal? Does the process of de-badging merely involve pulling off the badges and cleaning up some kind of adhesive, or is it a more complex process requiring body filler and paint touch-up?

Dental floss to pull clean and some goo be gone for adhesive.

They are just glued on. What I do us warm up the emblem with either a hair dryer or heat gun then take fishing line and saw it back and forth to remove the emblem. You will have some residue left you can work off with your finger, then use some goo off and some quick detailer to get all of the sticky glue off.

Check out my build thread in my sig. I did a short write up on removing the badges. But in short to answer your question, yes. It is easy.

I can attest to the fact that the badges are easy to take off, and put back on. I had clear mask put on the front of my '14 Overland just after we got it. The installer removed the front Jeep letters, and put them back on over the clear mask without have to replace the double-sided tape. He said Jeeps are one of the few vehicles that he can do this on. He also got the letters centered vertically, whereas the tops were almost at the crease as delivered.
