Wj WK2 Off-Road Mods

I know you just spent a crap-load on your new Grand and probably don't even want to get your baby dirty, let alone romp around off-road or spend more $$, but let's see those mods that will take your Jeep where few SUVs dare to tread!

Here's a start. I can't wait to see one like my PhotoChop!

Unfortunately I don't think the aftermarket is going to make much for the WK2. I'd just be happy if they'd make gears and a LSD for the front axle, but I'm not gonna hold my breath. I am looking forward to putting on 275/65-18s though.

A few companies are working on a 2" and 4" lift, should be available this Spring. Thats what my Off-Road Xtreme Jeep Service Manager told me (he helped me lift my ZJ 9"). I'll put a 2" lift on when they are available; just to get a little more height for trail riding.

I can't recal the comapnies off-hand but I think Rusty's was one of them.

Yeah, I'm figuring that will be the case. But at least MOPAR is making some more parts for it than previous Grands, like the REAL rock rails and optional black wheels. That winch I put on my Chopped 2011 pic is lifted from the MOPAR option for the WX Commander, so Jeep could easily modify it for the new Grand. I'm hoping Jeep offers a version of their SEMA Off-Road concept. At the very least, they should make it a MOPAR, dealer-installed option.

SEMA OFF-ROAD EDITION:

SPECS:
The Off-Road Edition has taller coil springs, 33-inch BFGoodrich tires and an arsenal of trail-ready armor all come along for the ride, and unlike its stage mate, Mopar skid plates, rock rails and tow hooks mean this GC actually lives up to its name.

Where are some pics of your rig?

I just rec'd this response from Rocky Road Outfitters in Utah,

"We actually have a new Grand Cherokee in our shop and the kit is complete. We're just running it thru testing now before release.

Thanks,
Glenn Wakefield"

So, we will see what comes of it. He made no mention of what they prototyped. And, stating the obvious, its for the std. coil suspension, not QL.

Nice! Thanks for the update. I think Iron Rock Off-Road is also developing a lift. I would imagine Rubicon Express will have at least a 3" lift for it as well.

There's a note on Rocky Road's website, announcing the WK2 parts are coming soon!

http://www.rocky-road.com/grandsus.html

They're looking for 2011 owners in Utah to test out new parts, including a lift, at no cost to the owner!

AEV is testing a lift kit that accommodates 35" tires!!

http://forum.aev-conversions.com/showthread.php?t=2288

It doesn't sound too promising, but Dave, at AEV, answers the question of the tire size, but won't say any more about it. Hmmm...

You're going to be very happy with those tires. These are Firestone Destination A/Ts. 275/65/R18.
