WK2 3.6L Oil Change Time?

Hello,

By my records, I last changed my oil about 8,500 miles ago. Shouldn't the oil change indicator have chimed on by now? Is there a way to find out what the system thinks is going on? It may have been about 6 months, maybe slightly longer in time. I am guessing I should just change it and move on, but why haven't I got the indicator?

There is a oil life display in your center stack display. Find where the tire pressure is displayed and use right button select that screen.

Sorry, I forgot to clarify that I have a 2011 Laredo. Do these things still apply?

In 2011 the oil change was 8,000 miles or 6 months, changed to 10,000 in 2012 or 2013.

I don't think there is a countdown mileage indicator in 2011, but the reminder should illuminate to indicate you are getting close to change time. My 2011 routinely goes off at 8,000 miles. Never seen it go longer. Double check the record of when the indicator was reset

Well yeah, always reset the Trip Odometer B when I do oil changes so I know. It's at 8500 or so miles.

If in doubt just get it changed, with the amount of miles you have, you're probably due pretty soon anyway.

wwheee, how do you get your trip odo to count down? That is awesome!

I always change oil in my vehcles twice a year, spring and fall regardless of the milage driven. Always have used a good quality synthetic for gasoline or specific synthetic for diesel.
