I just thought I'd add some input on Duratracs. I have a 14 WK2 and replaced the stock tires with Duratracs, same size 245/70/17. The Duratracs are LOUD. I was expecting a bit of a hum but at certain speeds, they have a strange harmonic resonance and you get a terrible drone. They also caused the fairly decent handling capabilities to degrade. I'm certainly not burning through corners or carving canyon roads but the soft compound and large tread blocks gave up considerably more grip than I expected. On some on ramps / off ramps my traction control has actually engaged because I'll start doing a slight drift. This is on dry pavement. A few days ago, I had to come to a stop fairly quickly. Not slam on the brakes quick but I did slow down aggressively. The ABS kicked in. I was quite surprised by this. I have experimented between 33 up to 45 psi and it doesn't seem to make any difference.

The only upside is that they look terrific and I'm sure they'll be great in the snow. I was just disappointed at how much dry performance I had to give up (I was expecting to give up some) and how loud they are. For reference, we have a 12 JK on BFG Muds and while the JK is louder overall, I think the BFG Muds are quieter than the Duratracs.

2011 wk2 tires

What kind of tires came stock on a 2011 wk2 with the 18 inch rims? Im looking for 18s for winter rims and found a pair online with Michelin tires. Just checking to see if these are the stock tires or replacements. Thanks.

Yeah I was hoping to be able to sell those and get a good snow tire to put on.

I have a '14 Ltd with 18" rims

Self bump, No one running 255 70 18 on their WK2???

All Terrain Tire Advice

I've been going back and forth trying to decide on the best all-terrain tire option for my 2014 Limited 4x4. I'm likely going with the XD Series Monster wheels, and now need to decide on a 275/65/18 tire. The front-runners are:
BFG All-Terrain KO
Nitto Terra Grappler
Goodyear Duratrac
Cooper Discoverer AT3
I've run the BFGs on my last 2 trucks, but have zero experience with the others. I'd really appreciate any advice you guys could throw at me, thanks.

what mix of on / off road performance are you looking for?

I think the AT3's are amazingly quiet on the road for a fairly aggressive tread

I have duratracs on my 08 Pathfinder and love them. They have been great tires and have worn great. My brother had the BFGs on his suburban and they were good for the first while but as they wore they got louder and their performance were not very good.

I'm looking at replacing the stock tires on my 2011 Laredo X. Mostly pavement driving with some dirt roads but nothing extreme. I'm leaning toward Firestone Destination ATs, which seem to get a lot of good reviews as a basic AT tire.

i LOVE my TerraGrapplers. They are as quiet as stock in the JGC. I've had mine for almost 45K miles and have experienced great tread wear (something I was a tad concerned over when buying). I've rotated them every oil change since I bought them.

My favorite plus with the Terra Grapplers is the wet road performance. They are hands down 10x better than the stock michs.
