I just picked up some Terra Grapplers as well. Got some new rims too. 275/55r20 and 20x9 +18mm. Really happy with the way it came out.

Any rubbing at all? Those do fill up those wells nicely.

Nope, I've got another 1/2" to spare. I'd like to go test fit some Federal Couragia's. 33x12.5x20. They should only be another .7~.8in bigger. If I flatten out the pinch welds I'm thinking there's a possibility of fitting.

Those look great. I'm starting to second guess myself and kind of wish I would have gone with the trail grapplers instead of the terra's. But...I drive a lot of highway, so I think I made the right choice, I just like the more aggressive look of the trail's. Bah!

I would have love to have gone with the Trail, but there was a question of them fitting and they were an extra $150/tire.

I really wanted the MT aggressiveness, but the guy talked me out of them for as much highway driving as I do. He said they'd wear faster, be loud and ride rough. I am glad I listened to him, would hate not to be able to use the hands free going down the highway lol

Yep, not to mention they will be worse in all "on-road" conditions, so to me it just didn't make sense. They do look freaking awesome though! I got a good deal on my terra's, $184/tire. I also doubt the trail's would fit without modification and I agree, WAY more expensive!!! No thanks haha.

I've never had M/T's. Are they that much louder that you can't use your hands free?

I've never had them on a grand cherokee but on a truck they are louder but not to the point where you wouldn't be able to use hands free.

OK. I have been going over the two tire threads here and I think my head is going to explode. Is there any way that Nitto Terra Grapplers LT285/65R18 will fit on a '14 Laredo with 18x9 +18 offset wheels ? Or should I stick with the LT275/65R18 on the same wheel? No lift or leveling kit, I would prefer to keep the suspension stock.

2012 tire replacement

It's time for me to replace the tires on my wife's 2012 Laredo.

We do not do winter/summer tires so looking for all seasons.

Suggestions?

From what I remember anything over 32" in diameter will require a lift. There's a cool size sheet on huge first page of this thread that will help.

Good luck!

People always say you need a lift to run bigger tires. That statement still confuses me a little.

The first thing that would rub the tire is the pinch weld on the back fender well when the wheels are halfway through the turn. I'm running 31.8" tires (20x9 wheel +18) and I have about 0.5" from the pinch weld. That distance doesn't change weather I'm at normal ride height or raised up at OR2. Now a lift will keep you from hitting the wheel arch, but I think you'd probably have to be running 33's and bigger to hit the wheel arch. I don't know.

Bending the pinch weld flat will gain you another ~ 1 inch aprox. So I'd guess you could run up to about 32.8"ish by bending the pinch weld flat without running running a lift.

Keep in mind that anything over 32" will rub on the felt as it does not lay right up against the wheel well. There's a little bit of an air gap. I'm not sure what folks are doing to get around that issue.

That's what I figured. Of course that's going to vary from tire to tire and vehicle to vehicle.

Do you want all season or all terrain? Aggressive or non-aggressive? Strictly street only?

Give us some more info...what size?
