If you have time (an entire day pretty much). Take the Durango and Silverton Narrow Gauge RR. It is AWESOME!!!!! Train goes from Durango to Silverton with a couple stops on the way. Spend a couple hours in Silverton then head back to Durango. I have done it twice and it never gets old. Kinda pricey but also a great deal. We sit in the cheap seats (open gondola) and love being that close and open with nature and the mountains. Downtown Durango is great, too. If youre into wine tasting there a few great places right in town.

I agree with jackal the train ride is legit. If you have $$ there is also tours in a Glider plane. There is hot springs near DMR resort and Dmr is open now for downhill and crossx mtb about $25 a day to use the lifts. The river is awesome right now as well white water rafting is open and kayaking +)
