Traded my 08 Liberty for 14 GC

Hi All,

Thought I would introduce myself, just traded my 2008 Liberty for a 2014 GC, love the truck. Getting ready to do a 3000 mile family cross country trip with her, she has 120 miles on her now.

So far only thing I miss from the Liberty is the flipper glass :confused:But I guess that has been beat to death on her already.

Anyone know the trick to opening the storage bin under the driver seat? Or is that not useful on the 2014...

Thanks,

Dan

Congratulations! There is no storage under the seats, technically at least... The battery is under the passenger seat, and the Quadra Lift motor is under the driver's seat, if you don't have Quadra Lift you should have a empty hole there but isn't exactly the easiest to get access too as you have found out. The easiest way is just to pull on it from the front, straight up. But be careful the thing is held in by plastic tabs if I remember right, it isn't designed t be accessed all the time.

Actually, it is designed to be accessed from the back seat. Motor your seat all the way forward. Lift under the rear edge of the cover and it should "pop" right up. I agree it is not a place you want to store anything you need to get at frequently or in a hurry. And some models do have components inside the compartment. I believe the Laredo and X (without QII) are empty. Best luck.

I use my bin all the time to hide things. I havent seen the 2014s but if it is similar or the same as 2012...just pull up from the rear. Plenty of space for whatever. I kept the misses purse, and two pistols in there on a backpacking trip. Not fool proof but you may trick the fool regardless if they aren't looking for the compartment. My Laredo has one small harness in there that can just be moved around.

I couldnt get ours from the rear, i had to use the front of it, and the whole time i thought it was going to break.

Just put 2600 miles in first week on new GC

Hi All,

thanks for the responses. I was away driving the GC from AZ, to Moab, to Vail, to Mt. Rushmoore and to Indiana... Next is Dallas, NM and home to AZ. Put 2600 miles on her in the first week and a half.

Drives like a 4x4 cadi

Love this vehicle. By the way, I was able to get 20.5 mpg in the first 2000 miles which including mostly hilly mountain areas in AZ, UT, CO, WY etc.. Turned it over to my wife in SD at 1 am, woke up at 4 am and the das read 18.0 MPG... WTF? Her explanation was "this thing is easy to drive, I was doing 95-100"
