Tom's 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee Altitude

Just bought this WK2 Altitude last Saturday, and have many plans for it over the next few months, so I thought I'd start my thead now.

Today, front Tow Hooks were installed at the Jeep dealer.

Will post pictures once I take some this weekend, and start documenting the changes.

What kinda plans do you have for your altitude? I bought mine a month ago, and am undecided on what I want to do with it yet(also waiting for the weather to get nicer)

Ah, my wish list. Well, I want to install:

1) RRO 2.5" lift. A little skeptical about this, but want better off-road tires and clearance
2) New wheels and tires (size undecided)
3) RRO Winch Bumper Kit with lights
4) Armor up the bottom with full skids and rock rails
5) Swap out the intake with a K&N or AiRaid intake
6) Port the TB and Intake Manifold
7) Throw on a hitch
8) Tune, tune, tune (once one is available). Finding the stock shift points suck on the 3.6L.

I'd like to work out the exhaust too, but am not a fan of loud cars. I'll let the 16 yo do that on his Honda Civic.

Am I missing anything? Hoping to get 1-6 done by the summer. Depends on my funds.

Just ordered the RRO 2.5" Lift. Can't wait to install it.

I ordered the Gibson Exhaust a few weeks ago from Quadratec but it has been on BO and still is. There are a couple recent thread floating around with some ok videos. I anxiously await this build.

Shot a video when you have it in.

Are you doing dyno runs to see if performance is better, or just gauging by improvement with daily driving?

I'll just do my own thing. I'm not buying it for any MPG increase. I am happy where I am at which is like 17 city and 21 highway. If it goes up, cool. If it goes down, we will see. haha.

the exhaust is still on back order for 2+ weeks.

Call me Crazy here but but it seems knid of strange to me to buy an Altitude and then change the tires / wheels and lift it. IMO its the tires, wheels and ride height that make the Altitude. Its almost (not quite though) like lifting an SRT8. On the other hand you should not have too much trouble selling your 20" wheels. I'll still be looking for the final photos however. Best of luck with it.

I just picked up a 2013 altitude in Mineral Gray after having a white 2012 laredo. It seems silly that we've paid more money for a black grill and rear fascia (plus other things obviously), when black is what came on all lower end models previously.

Ha ha... getting 18" wheels. Want to take my WK2 offroad.

So, why get an Altitude and not a Trailhawk? The only Trailhawk was a V8, and I wanted better MPG's. Plus, the Altitude is gonna look sic when Im done with it!

Looks good already with that color combo; anything else is just gravy ... and I like gravy.

Keep us updated with pix.
