Did you read any of this yet? http://www.firestik.com/Tech_Docs.htm Was pretty helpful. I don't know if I'd be concerned that the antenna mount is not attached to metal. Yours is mounted into plastic, right?!? I think, but don't quote me, as I am a beginner, but even though the antenna doesn't need a ground wire, the mounts should still be grounded metal to metal. See http://www.firestik.com/Tech_Docs/Setting_SWR.htm

Right. Our antennas are not NGP. They need to be attached to metal. I first mounted it to the grey plastic not thinking about that (doh). I now have it mounted a little higher than yours, about 8 inches up. I need to get the cable you have because mine will rub the paint. What little time I spent tuning it the SWR wouldnt change. I know it will take a while since the window for SWR is relatively small but man...just discouraging. This is my third or fourth CB and I have never had this much trouble.

Your rig is the inspiration to do some nice modifications to my wife's 2011. Since you have wheeled your ride with the RRO lift. What is your opinion of it?

Thank you.

The RRO kit isn't bad. I don't feel like installing the kit makes my rig unstable, and the added height is very nice. Wouldn't have been able to put the larger tires on it. Just wished there was a better, suspension lift for it... ...but there isn't!

I would recommend the RRO kit.

^^^ - Doesn't sound right to me! My copy has lots of pep for a vehicle of this size/weight. Have you checked the intake filter lately?

There's got to be something wrong with yours. Mine is quick. You have to remember you're driving a 5k+ lb vehicle.

Just trying to figure out why we would revive a year old thread about lift kits to talk about the lack of power of a hemi. Why not just start a new thread. Maybe ColdCase could separate the two.

I was hoping this thread would just fade away. There are so many other power threads.

Current: 2011 Grand Cherokee Overland V8, 2009 Liberty Rocky Mt V6
Previous: 2000 Grand Cherokee Laredo I6, 1979 CJ7 I6 Quadratrac

How is the lift on the jeep holding up? Any complaints or issues relating to lifting it?

I have a 2012 altitude and was hoping to lift it in the future but was hesitant to do so as not many are lifted/not too many parts to lift with.
