Subwoofer

I think I'd like to swap out the factory sub. Anyone done this already or found one that fits. I can not find any details on the size of the one that is in there.

Sorry for the delay, I was looking for the same info and remembered this post. If you have the alpine system, here ya go.

If someone has non-alpine, you should have 6 speakers, 4 in the doors and two tweeters.

Anyone know what power/amp sub would be a good replacement to the factory alpine? How much power from the 506amp amp is driving the factory sub?

I'm pretty sure it would be hard/impossible to over power the after market sub with the factory amp, but you also dont want to drastically under-power as well....any thoughts are appreciated.

Two options I am considering are:
JL Audio 8W1v2-4 W1v2 Series 8" 4-ohm subwoofer at Crutchfield.com
JBL GTO804 Grand Touring Series 8" 4-ohm subwoofer at Crutchfield.com

thoughts?

trying to figure the wattage to the sub channel, cant find any info.

IF you wanted to try and keep the factory amp, I would aim for a sub with as high of an efficiency as possible, to make the most out of whatever little power is available. Your second link is a much better choice, as its sensitivity is 91 (very good), and the first link has a rating of 83 (pretty low). This means with the same ammount of power, the second sub would be louder, and the factory amp would have an easier time driving it.
