smoke at startup v8?

I noticed this morning a nice puff of smoke when starting the jeep [...]

I know there has been info about it and a possible fix?

Should I call the dealership and have them fix it or they wont? What did you guys do?

Was it parked pointed uphill? How's the oil level? Some dipsticks are off and one can overfill. It is major surgery to install that new windage tray and it sometimes don't work anyway.

If its smoking after parked on the level or pointed down hill, the windage tray fix isn't going to help you.

Hugely discussed all around. Your 2011 has this TSB out there on it:

For what it's worth my '14 Hemi (built 12/6/13 so this TSB does not apply to me) has done this 3 times when parked on level ground. Since you are in TSB range you may want to consider this although you may have to pay for it unless you bought an extended service contract.

Oh, and don't think oil type matters as I use Amsoil Signature Series 100% Synthetic.

Does not matter imho...net net flat parking and TSB application (windage tray and programming module) may reduce it but it's just gonna happen once in a while on "some" hemi motors, mine is proof.
