Shipment delays?

Order a new GC Limited, have followed VOT since mid March. Vehicle was produced in April and has been sitting in Final inspection, customer service advised it's in a yard in Michigan because of lack of Rail transportation.
Getting the run around from jeep customer service. they claim they cant do anything until the jeep status changes to Shipped on VOTS.

Dealer mentioned they heard they laid off some drivers and have no idea of when they will give a ship date. Dealer is trying to locate another vehicle but haven't been able to locate the same color and options I wanted.
Dealer quoted 6 to 8 weeks and ordered the vehicle on March 4. Does anyone know if I can escalate? not a good start for a new vehicle.

The lack of rail space is a national problem and I was warned by my dealer and the manufacturer extensively regarding this. My dad and Uncle ordered a Dodge RAM 1500 EcoDesiel two months ago and my dad's just arrived last week. The other one still has not made it. My dad's was ordered two days after my Uncle's and both were shipped to CO. Be patient. It will come.

Might want to ask "Zhe Wiz" on the other forum about his experience. He apparently ordered on 3/18 and it never shipped, so he gave up on it.

If it hasn't been listed as plant release (KZ), and is still in final inspection, it could mean there is a problem that needs rectified before release to shipment. It could be almost anything, from a minor part shortage to a major mechanical failure. Not a whole lot you can do except be patient.

There is also a possibility it missed a couple scans and could be at your local rail yard. Mine sat in storage for two weeks waiting for a train, but that was three years ago. If it is ready for ship and waiting for a train, it should be in KZ status.... but their tracking system is not perfect.

Hopefully they are waiting to confirm that the CVs are good before they ship them. Unfortunately for lots of us that wasn't the case.

There's another forum that allows supporting members to track every stage of production and delivery (including Australia and Canada).

Didn't jeep add tracking to their customer support page? No longer any need to pay a membership fee.

I believe Milous stated that VOTS is shut down for good, I guess they couldn't compete with him. I didn't want to pay the $25, but according to my dealer, I was suppose to have my Jeep by a week ago...yet I don't, and have any idea when I'm actually going to get it. Very frustrating.

Is it in QA? CV boot issue? Waiting for good axles? As delays go, that's a good one if that's the reason.

No idea, I can't track it! I ordered it 4/17 so I doubt it would have the CV issue, as I was hoping with a late build they would have everything "fixed" by then on the assembly line.

I was told it was suppose to ship 5/16, but that's what the dealer told me, I've never received any emails from Chrysler either, so I've been relying on the dealer.
