Serpentine belt keeps breaking!

I have a 1995 Grand Cherokee with about 178k miles. My serpentine belt broke on me while I was driving on Friday, I Replaced it a new belt on Saturday evening then it broke again on Sunday evening. I heard the "squealing" noise before it broke but I didn't think it would break because I had just replaced it. I saw smoke so I popped the hood and water or coolant was on the engine. I think it was coolant because the coolant cap had popped off for some odd reason. Can someone please tell me why this may be happening and what I can do to fix it? I THINK it's my water pump but I don't why that would cause my belt to break twice in such a short period of time. Please help me, I dont know much about fixing cars but you guys sound like u can help me

You may have accidentally miss aligned it or a pulley could be out of alignment.
