Seat Belt Dash Warning

Disabled the seatbelt chime (ahhhh, quiet) but want to get rid of the warning on the dash. Anyone know how to do this? I can get it to go off by hitting the back button on the steering wheel but it comes back on after a minute.

I think that may be the only way. I have not heard of any other way.

You could put your seatbelt on.

Not everyone lives in suburbia. My driveway is half a mile long. I use my Jeep to work on the property and I am not going to wear my seatbelt when I am getting in and out every few minutes. The light on the dash doesn't bother me, but I did turn off the chime.

Once I leave my property I use my seatbelt without fail.

I have seen little clips that you latch in but there is no strap attached to it. Maybe try one of those. I even saw a picture of it somewhere. As for disabling the light I haven't heard of a way to do that.

How do you guys delete the chime? I do a lot of driving on our property and it's very annoying.

To remove seatbelt chime
1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position, and fasten the drivers seatbelt.
2. Start engine, and wait for Seat Belt warning light to turn OFF.
3. Within 60 seconds of starting engine, unbuckle and then re-buckle driver's seat belt at least 3 times, ending with belt buckled.
4. Turn off the engine. A single chime will sound to signify that your life is in your own hands.

It can take several tries to get it disabled.

The message will come up twice. Hit the back button both times then it won't come back.

I am using the center lcd for the electronic speedo. I get the unbuckled seatbelt warning, I hit the back button and it goes back to speedo. Comes back again every time I stop and start moving again. Also, always has the "i" for message.

I think I may just turn the damn warning chime back on and wear the seatbelt. I have never worn a seatbelt and choose not to. I just would like the 2012 to be like my wifes 2011 in regards to the seatbelt warning.
