Hi, i have the quadralift on my grand cherokee 2014, and i noticed that when in the offroad 2 setting, as im going ofer rough terrain, there are bumps or knocks from the suspension, which i would think is the struct reaching full extension????? its quite noticeable - any ideas - is this normal?
Ahhhhh ok - well i figured that much - its a little dissappointing, BUT thats because ive come from a landcruiser with 33" tires and 4" suspension lift, so the suspension had lots of travel.... Ill have to stick with OR1 then - i honestly would have thought that in OR2 they would ahve still allowed for some additional travel length...
Yes one would have thought the OR2 setting would have a little travel left. We had a similar experience on our first off-road foray. It was also when we learned that in order to keep it in the OR2 height you need to be in 4L
Jeep gives you options and now you complain? You pick ORA1 if you want max height but also some rebound, pick ORA2 if you want to sacrifice rebound and ride for even more height. Your choice. Speed limits are for safety. I imagine you could easily bounce off the trail in ORA2 at 40mph over rough ground.
I wouldn't say I was complaining and certainly the reasoning behind how they work and at what speeds makes sense. As a mountain biker I have fork travel height options in an air sprung front fork that still leave travel and rebound in reserve.
The roads I tend to frequent in BC tend to be old FSR's that have been deactivated. So sections of open running on a gravel road bed where I can be above the 15mph/24kph with cross ditches where having the extra clearance is nice. It is certainly a trade off for each ride height.
