When I was researching the 2011 Grand Chreokee, I had a difficult time trying to find what people were paying, aside from using truecar.com and edmunds.com. I always enjoy reading threads about prices paid for vehicles, and it's been helpful to me in my purchasing of numerous vehicles, so I thought maybe we could start one here? And since I suggested it, I'll start.
2011 GC Laredo, 25X, Hemi - MSRP - $38,490
Paid......$32,100 OTD
I actually paid less than that, but I didn't include trade in. Cross shopped two sister dealers, and it worked flawlessly!

Sorry but I've gotta call a BS on this. You want us to believe you got 20% off MSRP on a vehicle with no current incentives. Or to put in better, paid $4000 UNDER invoice on the hottest vehicle in the Chrysler/Jeep lineup? They played a numbers game with you on your trade, trust me.

32,100 OTD? So you actually got it for around 30,000 before TTL? That's amazing. The best i've heard lately is about 4,000 off sticker. You got 8,500 off MSRP? What exactly did you trade in? What were the specs on it, and how much did they give you for it?
This really gives me courage. I may be able to get a WK2 this year after all.

I wouldn't get your hopes up. Remember, he said he had a trade and considering there's no factory incentives what makes you think a dealer would sell you a car for more than $3000 LESS than he PAID for it.
Forget the OTD price, means next to nothing since taxes and fees are different for almost every buyer and so many people trade they really don't know what their actual cost is.
A Good deal on this vehicle is $36K + tax and tags. Anything under $35,700 is below real dealer cost and since they don't get holdback for months they would be in the hole selling the SUV at this price. Something has to subsidize the price to get it for less than true cost, either there's more in your trade than you realize or they are getting factory to dealer incentives the major services are not reporting.

The Jeep dealership near me is offering $3K+ off MRSP as a internet price, plus they state make an offer. I went to my Jeep dealership today. They must have 30+ JGC's on the lot. They have signs in the JGC that say up to 50% off of MRSP, stating they need to sell 100 cars before the end of the year. I call BS on the 50%, but obviously they are coming off the price already. In this economy it does not suprise me.

Not the case out here. No one has that many on their lots. Wish they did as there would be more room to play

msrp - $38490
usaa pricing - $34,997
dealer discounted to - $32,100, tax exempt due to military, $32 charge for tag transfer, also including a military discount, recurring buyer discount, sister dealership competition, bonus bucks card($750), took additional cash off instead of the dealership offered 5 year maint. plan (won't be here much more than a year due to military). The dealership also gave us $500 off for my wife being pregnant and us buying as her mommy mobile, or atleast they claim. I also got a bit of money off since the jeep was very VERY dirty. Much dirtier than a jeep with 100 miles should be. The salesman who took it on the last test drive drove it through a field and there was dirt every where underneath the jeep. I was VERY quick to point this discrepancy out, and they quickly dropped a few dollars on their price.
Traded an 09 tundra limited 4x4, red rock with NAV and JBL system, and every possible factory option available on a DC, lifted on 34's, transferrable warranty to 50K miles. Gave 32K for it! We bought it from their sister Toyota dealership. The Toyota dealership did the appraisal when we took the jeep for a test drive...a two hour test drive.
I have no reason to lie or tell stories. If you don't believe me, that is fine with me, I will not lose sleep over it. Deals are there, you have to work for them.
You also probably don't believe I talked my 09 Tundra down from 47K to 35K out the door, including paying off my older trade, an 05 avalanche which needed a new front end. I purchased the Tundra with the lift and tires on it as well, but thats a different story...december 31st buying is AWESOME!

msrp $39,185
OTD $38,000 -- includes 3% NC tax, tags, $500 doc fee, etc., etc.
ended up being $700 or so below invoice.

Regardless how it's spun the dealer needs to get paid and they will or go out of business. Selling you a vehicle for less than they paid doesn't put food on their table so like I said, they got it from somewhere because $32100 is at least $3000 less than my local dealer pays Jeep for that vehicle. It sounds like they tapped into some military plans most of us don't have access to, good for you.

What is USAA pricing? Also, how much did they give you for the tundra?

USAA is a bank/credit union that has special discount/banking deals for military members and their family.

So how does that relate to the lower jeep price posted above.

As a member of the military and USAA....the USAA price is correct, they usually get you $1000 below invoice pricing. Not sure if there are kick backs to the dealer from USAA in an effort to get business from the military community. I'm sure USAA makes it up in spades through other fees for services they provide. USAA is truly a great benefit to the military.
My only question is how did you get tax exempt from being in the military? I'm in PA too and that is not something that you get for being in the military....especially in PA. Even military have to pay their taxes!
