Lightbulb Posting Tips

- Keep your messages on topic. You may talk about the problems, desires, capabilities, modifications, ideas and loves / hates that you have. We will allow a certain amount of "off-topic" messaging, but please keep it to a minimum, start a new thread if necessary.

- Swearing, flaming, slamming and spamming will not be tolerated. Posts that do not fall within the guidelines of this site will either be edited for content or will be deleted all-together. This is your only warning. Repeat offenders will find their login-id's and IP addresses banned from using

- On every message on the left side under the name of the person posting you will find a “Report Post” icon. Clicking on that button will allow you to write a detailed message to the moderator as to why the message needs to be fixed. Please let us know if it is spam, porn, flaming, trolling or slamming another user or any other details you feel are relevant. Please help us keep this forum clean and running well.

- Pictures may be posted with your messages. Please check the Registry Section for ideas on how to properly post the pictures that you wish for others to see

- Please do not post and repost your questions several times over as the answers are not always immediate. Some people will refrain from answering questions even after reading them if they cannot prove their points of view or question their own knowledge of the particular issue you are having.

- Posts that are nothing but "padding" the post-counter (ie: "I agree") will not be tolerated for long. If you agree, say so, but please add more to the discussion, you do have opinions that you can share!

As times and members change within this group, some questions may be asked over and over again ...
- - For the oldtimers, please be patient with those who are new.
- - To those who are new, you can search the online databases for answers to your questions. If you feel the answers found do not satisfy you, please don't hesitate to post your question here.
- - Sometimes the answers you are looking for may be in other sections, check there as well, as many questions that are asked about the Compass or Patriot may also apply to other models
- - Don't forget the general sections under "OffRoad Performance" as there is lots of great information in there as well.
- - These forums are here to help in a positive and good natured way, don't be too shy to ask a question or respond with worth while information.

- Respect yourself and respect others, or else you will be banned without warning and the ban will never be released.

- SEARCH this forum for answers before starting a new thread. This forum has been around for some time and countless topics have been discussed multiple times.

- This is a family friendly place. Topics allowed include anything PG-13. No X-Rated pictures, jokes etc. No racist remarks, gender remarks, nor sexual preference slams etc. You will be banned without warning. There will be zero tolerance on this.

- Swearing, flaming, and slamming will not be tolerated. Posts that do not fall within the guidelines of this site will either be edited for content or will be deleted all-together. This is your only warning.

- Censor bypassing is when a member deliberately try’s to fool the vBulletin Word Censor. The Word Censor is in place to censor obscene or words that may not be acceptable to certain visitors. Remember, JeepForum is a family site, so, the Word Censor is in place to protect children and others that may be offended by obscene words.

--Bypassing the Word Censor by using BB (Bulletin Board) codes to act as a wedge in between censored words (fuck) or by using ALT-#### codes (~ ! @ # $ % ^ & * ( ) _ + ` { } [ ] : " ; ' < > , . ? / ect..) will not be tolerated!

- Typing in all caps is considered shouting or yelling in an internet setting. It is also hard on the eyes thus making it difficult to read and understand. Typing an entire paragraph or multiple sentences in all caps will result in your thread or post being deleted.

- If you are quoting more than one post, please use the multi-quote icon. It has quotation marks and a plus sign. Click the threads to be quoted, which will turn red, then hit the normal quote icon for the last one and go from there in what you need to say. This eliminates replying multiple times right after each other.

- "Don't beat a dead horse." Many topics on this forum are considered dead horses that the majority of members are tired of discussing. These topics tend to clutter Page 1 of this forum and can cause more serious threads to be overlooked. They also waste storage space, which slows down the forum and hassles the webmasters. Every one of these topics can be answered by way of the SEARCH function.

- No for sale, wanted or trade items in this section. This includes GROUP BUYS. A vendor can post group buy details in the group buy forum.

- Please refrain from meaningless posts, one word (or short) non-sense posts. This only serves to clutter the forums.

- If one of your posts is locked or deleted, please do not start another thread dedicated to why it was edited. If you have a problem with your post being locked or deleted, please send a private message to a admin/mod describing the problem.

- Leave the polarizing divisive political statements out of your signatures. This is a Jeep Forum and there's no need to push your politics on everyone in every one of your posts.

- Absolutely no threads promoting or condoning illegal drug use or illegal activities.

- Do not post about problems or questions with other websites.

- Do not use the forum to solicit. Do not ask for monetary help from users. No raffles or donation drives.

- Do not advertise your website/product or product/websites you are affiliated with in any way or shape. If a post is deleted and labeled as advertising then we consider it advertising so please do not post it again.

- Spamming users using private messages will get you banned no matter who you are. Do not mass advertise through private messages.

- Leave the forum if you do not like the website.

- If you want to participate on an internet forum then grow some thick skin. There are thousands of armchair quarterbacks ready to pick you apart. There is an ignore function through the forum software and in your head. Use it.

- Posting of copywritten material (such as links to entire FSM's) is not allowed.

- Keep your messages on topic. For this group, that means talking about the Jeep Grand Cherokee (WK2, 2011+) and the problems, desires, capabilities, modifications, ideas and loves / hates that you have about them. The moderators will allow a certain amount of "off-topic" messaging, but please do not push it.

- All registered accounts come with a profile page. Your profile lets you tell a little about yourself, but more importantly, about your Jeep. A completed profile will help other members know what hardware you are dealing with when attempting to solve any problems you post. You may also add your information to your signature. This avoids PMs and posts asking, "Hey nice tires, what are they"?

We want everyone to enjoy the forum but a disregard for the rules will get your account suspended and/or banned depending on the severity of the issue.
