Painted or chrome door handle & side mirrors ???

Little dilemma here,I'm about to order a Limited 2012,but I really don't like the chrome thing, they scratch easily and with time they crack as I saw today on a Cadillac Escalade.

What are you thoughts on the chrome door handles & side mirrors ?

I have that model and wonder about how it will hold up over the years to come.
I read that you can change most of the chrome pieces if you want( not sure about the grille). So you have that option if you like.

I like the way it looks so far. My plan is... if the chrome gets too shabby I will just replace them with new ones.

There are threads on here that show some folks going crazy with the chrome-works, bezel etc. what I've seen looks quite good and not too expensive.

Too much chrome looks like a pimps car.

I missed out on the HIDs but I went with a Laredo X because I do not like the chrome mirrors/door handles and I preferred the black wood trim on the inside. Its all personal preference. The chrome stuff will hold up fine if thats what you are worried about.

The grill is the easiest to replace right next to the fog bezels.

a) Stock lights are 55w low beam H-11s, far cry from the early 37w sealed beam Halogens, are even better than my SilverStars.
b) I do not particularly care for chrome, particularly slip covers
c) WK2 does need strong horizontal accents to break up the slab sides
d) Personally believe the decontented Laredo is the best looking of all both in and out. Just needs a few tweaks like a rear view camera. Grille is a bit much but easy. Suspect grille will change and get clear LED taillights for '13.

One of these is a diesel.
