Picked up my first Jeep last month. It's the X package with the trail rated options and tow. I had them install wheels tires and the bars at the dealer. I had a ford explorer that had a lot of issues and needed a new SUV. I went in and while I was making the deal there was a base Laredo with the mods on it. I couldn't stop looking at it and finally said we need to start over because I want mine to look exactly like that one. We went back and forth and finally made the deal.
I absolutely love this vehicle and it gets a lot of attention. I even had someone take a picture of it on their cell phone at a light . Felt pretty good. I'm wanting to lift the front an inch or two at some point if they come out with that. When I'm driving and hit a dip in the road the pushes the suspension the front tires will hit. It doesn't do it on turns but it really tenses me up when it hits. Also I'm not sure I'm going to keep the MTs. They are pretty loud but look so good.
That looks good. You can get a complete 2" or 2.5" lift from Rocky Road Outfitters (can't remember if it is 2" or 2.5"). That will keep the front tires out of the fenders.
I thought the tow package added heavier brakes that couldn't fit 17s? I'm still looking for wheels/tires that I like, and I've been ignoring 17s in total b/c of that. Am I mistaken?
Looks great, btw! those wheels really compliment that WK2s style. Its good to hear someone else say the MTs are maybe too loud to keep. haha - that was one of my primary concerns when beginning my wheel/tire combo search.
When you get a chance, can you snap some good pics of the side bars? I'm between the mopar rails or steps... practical or looks, ya know? I'll be honest, my jeep will probably never need rock rails.. haha
Sure I'll take some after work and post them up. I'm not sure what tow package I have but it's the one that levels the back if under weight. I don't know if I will ever use it or not it was a dealer quick package that had the trail rated options and that. Also has heated mirrors which I think is a winter package.
I wouldn't say they are too loud to keep by any means you can just hear them. Sometimes I like the sound because it makes it sound like a beast going down the road but sometimes on longer trips it gets old. Honestly with the radio even at lower volumes it covers it up. From what I read these are on the quiet side of all the MTs out there so that is good.
Thanks man I love them. I have always been a fan of big tires. Big wheels are cool too but I think they look better on a Sequoya or escalade rather than a jeep. I am going to off road this so I wanted something functional
Not sure man. Someone else might know or call the dealer. You can call Adams Jeep in MD they specialize in modding jeeps. There is a thread in this forum of modded jeeps and mine is actually in the link from their site.
Hemmi gets HD brakes. v6 gets regular brakes. Tow package doesn't matter. 17's will fit on any v6. Hemmi will not fit factory 17's.
