Nav update 2016

Purchased my 2015 summit in January and noticed freeway that's been in existence over 1 year, still does not show up. My sister in law just purchased 2016 Cherokee and her nav is up to date and shows the freeway. How do I update my Nav?

You pay $150 for the latest update.

Pretty much. The map pack that comes with the nav unit; although manufactured in the last year or so, is outdated by many years. I have places around town that have been around for 5+ years and are not on the map.

Is this update through the dealer? Actually checked jeep nav update site and it says I have the latest maps. Which isn't true as my sister in laws jeep has newer maps.

I assume they have same radio. Mine is summit with 8.4 and hers is Cherokee with 8.4. Everything looks and works the same, but her maps are newer.

That is correct. You can update your UConnect system at your local certified FCA dealer. The reason the maps between your vehicle and your sister?s in laws could be due to the different radios. Thanks! ? Kevin T, Social Connect Team

You may want to remind the dealers that this is a service they are supposed to perform, around here they don't even know how to answer that question. The only one that came close said 3 hours labor to update firmware on top of the $149 for the disc on an older pita 430 but come on.

Ernstmfg:

My 2015 Grand Cherokee had a December 2015 build date & according to Chrysler website is up to date.

I verified it here:
http://chryslergroup.navigation.com/...ChryslerNA/USD

What was your build date & what is your Navigation Version Number?

Good Luck, Dorothy

My recent build 8.4 seems to have 2014Q2 maps. It seems like 2015 Maps have been released.

Thanks for the response. There are two different 8.4 radios, RA3 & RA4. Please visit UConnect for more http://www.driveuconnect.com/. – Kevin T, Social Connect Team

Given its extra cost to start with you'd think we could at least start out with an up to date map.

You're checking for Uconnect software updates, not map updates. Check here instead: http://chryslergroup.navigation.com/...ChryslerNA/USD

Check in your Uconnect settings > System Information. Under Map Database you'll see something along the lines of 2014Q2.

The latest map update they released was in summer of 2015, it was called FCA- 2015 NORTH AMERICAN MAP FOR UCONNECT® 8.4A OR 8.4AN NAVIGATION SYSTEM (RA3 or RA4). This actually contains the 2013Q4 database. The 2016 map updates are due out sometime this fall.

On a side note, some newer model Jeeps shipped from the factory with 2014Q2 map database. Not sure why, as this version doesn't seem to be available currently as an "Update".
