....this is going to be a great thread! Have they given any estimation as to the time-line before a kit might be available?

I was told that it will be duals and I suspect kits will be available by the end of the year. I don't return from the middle east until Sept and BANKS requested to keep the vehicle till the end of Sept, 1st week in Oct. BANKS has been amazing, the POC there sends me an e-mail weekly with a brief run down on what they are doing and what they are planning on doing. So far they said they already have the cold air intake being designed on the CAD and will have something soon to begin testing on my GC to the get the MAP sensor and tuning down. With me being gone and being a single guy with no family of my own, each week hearing from BANKS gives me something to look forward too. My other 2 deployments seemed to drag on, but with the GC getting worked and the occasional photo the time passes by faster. I'll keep you all posted as I get more info in.

Since it's coming from a single turbo, it kind of has to be a single to dual setup...

I'm excited to see what banks can do with this, and how much torque this transmission can take(rated at 516)!

I realize this but I didn't know if they would route it to just one outlet. At first thought dual 3" seemed excessive.

Warranty issues?

I would only consider this if Banks worked with Chrysler/Jeep and gave you a warranty.

Glad to hear they are working on the CAI. Hopefully, it will improve the sound since the dpf-back exhaust won't. It would be nice if it opens up the turbo noise. I'm tired of sounding stock.

Keep us updated as things progress!

I was thinking about this thread and the OP more today - for a true motor head, this is really pretty cool. Banks has clear interest in the engine for their own applications and potential military contracts. I'm sure they are fully aware of the potential revenue from aftermarket products with all the 1/2 ton trucks in the pipe that will have this power plant. The engine itself is a really sophisticated piece from all the info I've read, probably also a reason Banks is interested in working with it. And some of, if not the, earliest R&D with the engine in a chassis is on the WK2! It's just really cool. Thanks to the OP for taking the initiative to make it happen, such a great move. Clearly he'll have some immediate benefit, but there is some risk for sure.

And I also have been meaning to reply just to say a true heartfelt thanks for your service as well, if nothing else from one Michigan native (originally and still at heart) to another.

Thanks for your comments. Here's the first prototype of the DFP back NO mufflers 3" exhaust. BANKS has said with the no backpressure, in lower RPM's the vehicle is shifting quicker from 1-4gear and the turbo is spooling up faster. As soon as I get a video clip, I'll pass it along;

Looks pretty straight forward to me, they got it fitting in there nice if not maybe a tad close to the rear diff. I attached a pic of the electronic limited slip diff in mine. I'm not sure it's a lot bigger, but I think it might be a bit bigger. Hard to get a great photo of it, obviously mine is not on a rack. Next time you talk to them, might let them know about this option. If they revise the prototype they might want to leave a bit more room just to be safe and sure it fits all models.

I was just looking at yours vs mine, your rear diff looks larger. I guess I don't have the Quadra-drive II. I agree the fit looked pretty tight on mine with that exhaust. So far they said they have only put 200 miles on that exhaust and they are working on the air intake right now. They want to tint my front drivers/passenger window, they said it photographs better, so that makes me wonder if they are going to put it on their website under projects or maybe a magazine. Most of these mods I suspect will be for the same engine in the Ram 1500 which will likely sell very well. Will post more when I get more back from BANKS

Hey guys I just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Chris and I am diverB's contact at Banks and the guy that sends him the photos. I am new to the whole forum thing so I apologize off the bat if I do or say something wrong. He and I were e-mailing as I try not to go a day without giving him an update or a photo and he suggested that I join the forum, so here I am. I am not here to sell you my stuff or tell you why ours is better than others, that is up to you. I am here because I truly enjoy reading his posts and all of yours, and in all honesty it makes me feel good that by me taking a few minutes out of my day to send him an update and some photos brings him some happiness and something to look forward to being so far away from home. Even though I have never met him in person and only spoke to him on the phone a few times I already know I am going to have to call in sick the day after he arrives to get his Jeep. Pretty sure we will both be cabbing it home that night!!!

I also want to thank you guys for some of the suggestions regarding fitment and I just sent diverB the photo of the Reworked Y-pipe that eliminates the clearance concerns. I will let him post it later when he has a chance to see it and get online. So long story short I look forward to getting to know you guys, learning more about Jeeps and not just diesel ones, and having some fun and good laughs while doing it.

Cheers,
Chris

Hi Chris! Welcome, even though I certainly haven't been around this forum as long as some of the other guys. Very glad to see you poking around here.

It's really great what you are doing working with diverb and his vehicle. Should be a great project for Banks. The progress photos are a great idea. You all might have looked at the prototype Y-pipe and though it was a little close on your own, I just thought it would be good to post a pic of the other diff variant in case it would help. If anything else like that comes up and you wished you could look at another vehicle, this is a great place to find someone that could shoot a pic or what not.

Welcome Chris... if you folks ever need another Ecodiesel for testing that is local to you, hit me up as I'm in La Verne. Its a full zoot Overland with the offroad package (skidplates and tow hooks) and Quadradrive. You folks had my 08CRD Grand Cherokee in for a look see back in early 09 but nothing ever came of it..... but it did come back with a full tank of diesel LOL.
