Looking at new JGC '11 or '12- few questions

Hey all, I'm catching up on my homework on getting a used Grand Cherokee, but I do have a few questions.

1. I'm looking at a 2011 and a 2012 Limited models, and I'm not really seeing major differences. Are there any forum recommendations between those two models, assuming same condition?

2. I was considering a Laredo with the E Package, but it didn't appear that you can raise the driver seat. My wife is a tiny one at 5'2" so it didn't seem to raise up in any way (it wasn't powered). Is it possible to raise up a non-powered seat?

3. Lasty- warranty, I'm talking with an auto broker who has offered a 100k mile warranty (car has 30k miles) for about $1700. I'm waffling on that. I'm considering it, but figured I'd ask.

Thanks!
vw

I think the only 2011-2012 differences is the V8 transmission was reprogrammed and the V6 got an electric power steering pump. There were a few color and trim availability differences. The V8 overland came standard with QD in 2011, was optional in 2012 I think.

Dunno about the seats.

No one really sells a warranty, its insurance by a different name. Very little positive experience noted here when dealing with third party insurance as many mechanics don't like to deal with them. You often pay up front and hope you get reimbursed. The Chrysler extended warranty, on the other hand, is OK if pricey. You should look at that vs some third party thing. You can check quotes/cost on line... www.chryslerwarrantys.com

The E group adds the power driver's seat.

With my wife and I being pretty different heights one of the features we love the most are the memory seats on our 12 Limited. I just have to walk up to the Jeep with the key in my pocket and the seat moves to a position where I won't bang my knees on the steering wheel trying to get in. I also like how it changes the audio settings to my presets etc.

Vary satisfied with our 2011 GC Overland. Have about 53,000 miles. Bought the factory extended warranty due to the air suspension but haven't needed it for anything.

Thanks

Great feedback, thanks everyone. I didn't see that the E group had power seats, that's very helpful to know.

I thought the 2011 V8 has a 5 speed transmission. My 2012 Limited V8 is 6 speed.

The only difference between the 545rfe in the 2011 and the 65rfe in the 2012 is an "improved" torque converter. Other than that the transmissions function the same.
