I wish the Trailhawk came with better wheels

The standard 18" wheels with the split 5 spoke are pretty bad. The optional mag wheels they show in all the marketing look great. But not available. Quite a few V8 Trailhawks on dealer lots by me with big discounts but I just can't seem to pull the trigger...

If you get a huge discount, you could easily put the money saved into a pair of wheels you like.

What exactly do you not like about them? Don't like the way they look? Just curious.

^I think they are way too plain. I like more of a mag style wheel or something with a dish, not a spoke wheel. The spoke wheel looks like it should be on a car. The optional wheel they show in all the Jeep adds for the Trailhawk look excellent. I really like the older WK2 mag wheels that came either painted or polished. Even the Cherokee Trailhawk has nicer looking wheels IMO. Hoping Jeep releases something for 2018 and it can be a swap. I'm always hesitant to buy aftermarket wheels - in my experience they just don't hold up to the winters here in the midwest

Wheel style is pretty much a subjective thing. I agree with 'Devil...make a great deal and when you are financially able, get some aftermarket wheels that are more to your liking.

Pro-Comps - $180 each, powder-coated, way cheaper than factory wheels. Lots of good looking aftermarket wheels, just watch the backspacing. If that is the reason for not buying one, then it might not be the right vehicle for you. Like not buying a house because of the color.

I agree with the OP. The other wheels they show in advertisments are 20 inch I believe and look much better.

If you like it, buy it!!!!

I actually like the Factory Trailhawk wheels.

On my JK though, I didn't like those and found a set of ProComps that I liked and they were cheap enough that I'm not butt hurt when I tear one up.

I agree withe the OP as well. When the new Cherokee came out it wasn't anything I was interested in, but once they added the TH and then later the TH with blacked out wheels, it was very interesting. The TH wheels and tires were bigger than anything available on lesser Cherokees and with a slight lift made a blah (or worse) vehicle look aggressive.

The JGC TH needs a similar upgrade compared to other JGC's - a slight lift (that you notice driving down the road - not just when you are going slow and push a button), and slightly larger, more aggressive wheels and tires.

Just buy a basic Grand Cherokee, lift it, and buy some wheels.

I would not want a Trailhawk with 20" wheels. Too big for off-road. The Trailhawk only comes with 18's and I'm happy for that.

There are a lot of WK2 running 20 inch wheels (most with larger tires) that are more than happy with the performance in anything a WK2 can handle. Looks are subjective. The biggest disadvantage has been that, when you damage a wheel, you are usually out a bit more money.

Just saying some of the old rule of thumbs don't apply as much now days, considering the tripod the WK2 becomes.
