I ordered my JGC Limited on December 19th and the Tracking still says "Production Schedlued" I am in New York. Anyone having to wait this long for their car? Anyone have any idea as to when i should take delivery (my dealer is no help)?
It look barely over 4 weeks for mine from order date till delivery. I think it varies between 2.5 to 6 weeks from what I've seen. The VOTS tracking system didn't work for me at all. It never recongnized my VIN and I only got 2 emails from Chrysler when they received my order and when it was shipped.
2012 Laredo X : QTII, 430N nav, true blue pearl
That's strange. I ordered mine on 1/8/12 and it is already built and on the railcar headed South. Scheduled delivery 1/31. I wonder if it matters what the trim and options are.... My order is an overland. Good luck!
I went to the dealer and finalized the order on Jan 9. I have not heard anything since. Stated workers are on break from xmas until the following week. Any thoughts? '12 Laredo 4x4 QT2, Tow, E, Green/ Black cloth.
I'm also in NY, I ordered mine on 1/2 and I just got an email that it shipped today. I figure I will have it in about two weeks. it will sit at production scheduled for a couple of weeks but then things will move very fast through assembly and on to shipping, literally a couple of days till it's out the door once they start.
Things seem to be moving quicker now, but 6-8 weeks was the norm a few months ago. Some have waited 16 weeks. Sometimes cars are held up because of a lack of a certain part or paint or option. If you have a VIN, I think you can sign into the owner’s page at jeep.com and get current status.
These are the general steps. Things don’t really get going till you are in D1 status. Sounds like the OP may be in C status and still subject to dealer alocations.:
C – tentative schedule
D – firm schedule: serial number is assigned.
D1 – gateline: plant has sequenced the unit for production, estimated ship date usually assigned
PR - Pre-Release (status that is assigned just before D1)
E – framing
F – paint
G – trim
I – unit is pending final inspection, quality control
J – vehicle has passed final inspection, but has not been released to carrier
JB – shipped to body vendor
JE – shipped to emissions
JJ – consigned body vendor
JS – shipped to storage
KZ – released by plant and invoiced
Then there is waiting for a rail car, loading on a train, transient time to the local terminal, off loading and loading on a car carrier for delivery to the dealer.
Limiteds and overlands seem to not have any scheduling differences.
