I also had a crooked steering wheel (and brake squeal). Dealer wouldn't address either so I had an alignment done and front rotor resurfacing at a reputable local mechanic for a hundred bucks total. What's interesting is that he said the car was within factory specs, then drove it and noticed the wheel cocked to the right about 2 degrees
After some trial and error he was able to adjust it even though specs said otherwise. Frustrating situation for a brand new car, but it now tracks straight as an arrow and the break squeal is completely gone.
As for the thumping noise in the back, I aggressively tightened down my spare and removed the two plastic trays, along with all the other items tucked away back there. Thump seems to be gone now. Hopefully that will work for you guys too..
