Factory Touch Up Paint

I called the dealer right after I bought my Mineral Grey Overland and the parts dept. guy asks me for my VIN number. Then after digging through his computer to find the paint match my VIN code, it had a totally different name?! What does it matter the VIN when there's only so many colors each model year and the name of the paint should do the trick. What's up with that? Anyone know where to get touch up paint? Just want to be ready!

I've never known a manufacturer to use a VIN for paint color. Somewhere on your jeep there should be a sticker with the option codes which will have the paint code you will need. Dealer should be get from that.
