Extended warranty options

Hello!

I recently purchased a new, used 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited, which is out of factory warranty as a result, I'm looking to buy some sort of extended warranty for it. Wondering if anyone has any recommendations on where to buy from and/or what would be good to buy. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

I think you can still get a factory extended warranty (from Chrysler). I'm still getting adds for our 2009. Check on Jeep.com and see if you qualify. The maxicare is the most useful and best value extended warranty available from anybody.

If you qualify, there are a few threads here that discuss how to get the best prices.

I tried last year, have a 2011 overland and they never return my emails so I just gave up. It's worth a shot maybe I was doing something wrong. Good luck

Google Jeep extended warranty and several places will come up with options to put in your year and mileage and give you prices. They're the same Factory extended plan, but much cheaper than what Jeep will sell it for.

I'm not sure if I can put the actual dealer name I bought my extended plan from or not. But it's more than $1,000 less than what Jeep sells it for.

Ziegler is the on that comes up often here with best prices.

Any Chrysler vehicle that is less than 12 years old and has fewer than 125,000 miles is eligible for an extended warranty. Newer vehicles may qualify for a Chrysler Lifetime warranty.

Some of the options if you have 60,000 miles on the odometer, but the online sites will give you specific info.

Extended service contracts on older vehicles are necessarily going to be costly. That's the basis of insurance...which is essentially what these plans equate to. A higher deductible may help with the cost, however, if you're willing to self-insure a bit more since that shifts some of the risk.
