The service manual is always right It was a MY2012, MY2011 "should" be the same. You don't need a license, but you do need a subscription to
techauthority. This gets you flash files to update PCM's, TSB's. The Witech software updates without subscription via update checker within the Witech software.

I have a 14 and they can be turned off with no issues. I did it while playing with the touchscreen while waiting for my wife at the bank this past weekend. Takes 30 seconds.
