Hi! Im looking for solution....just bought my first Jeep Grand Cherokee 2016 Limited EcoDiesel and my dog is having trouble adjusting. I had a Sonata before and it was easy for him to jump into the back seat. Part of the reason I got the GC was to get my dog out of my back seat and into the trunk and hopefully minimize the hair in the second row seating. He is older with some hip issues and he goes literally everywhere with me (I work on a horse farm and he has free range of the property all day) but he's having trouble getting in to the back.

I am looking for something super lightweight and portable that could be kept in the trunk without cramping his 90lb German Shepherd body. Even a literal box would be helpful.

There are steps that plug into the hitch receiver that may work.

i like this idea - could probably even incorporate some sort of folding ramp that flips down ... so you can plug in to the receiver real quick, fold it down, dog runs up, remove and store

or a flip down step that you just leave installed in the receiver - use what CC suggested and/or add a larger step for the dog onto the existing step (avoids welding a new custom setup like the ramp idea)

I bought my Basset Hound a collapsible ramp. But after a while I just started lifting him in. He puts his front half up and I lift the lower half.

I have seen these on a few customers vehicles. They are solid and don't look terrible.
