Dealer mentioned Manufacturer-to-Customer rebate on Jeep 2012. Is it true?

Do you guys have experience with Manufacturer-to-Customer rebate on Jeep?

Dealer just called me to offer a $29,000 out-the-door price after $1000 rebate for a GC 2012.

Since cash payment is chosen, my question is what will happen at the dealership: does dealer need a $29,000 check from me?

Or, does dealer need a $30,000 check so that I would have to wait for a future manufacturer's $1000 check via mail?

In general, how does the rebate thing work?

Thanks!

I have always received my rebate on the sales sheet and the dealer then collected from the auto manufacturer. So if your dealer wants the 30k I would advise looking for another dealer asap. I just bought mine the last of July and that is again how my rebate worked as usual for me. Good luck with your purchase.

You pay one check to the dealer that will include all rebates and adjustments (the purchase agreement generally states all rebates go to the dealer). The dealer gets all the rebates. I think you could have the rebate sent to you instead if you chose so, but that is not the norm.

So in your case, you write a $29000 check, the dealer gets the other 1000 from chrysler.

Just go on Jeep.com and do a 'Build Your Own'. At the bottom of the page it will show the $1000. cash rebate incentive. Don't know how long this will last, maybe the month of November? I hope so because my new GC is due to arrive about 11/18

Do you remember where you read that? Can you direct me to it? It would be good to know to avoid any issues with the dealer when I take delivery. Thanks.

You can enter your zip code and see incentives and offers from Jeep here:

http://www.jeep.com/en/incentives/in...01203&zipCode=

Or you can check out what Edmund's site has on incentives:

http://www.edmunds.com/jeep/grand-ch...ncentives.html

From 11/1 to 11/30/2011:

Restrictions:
$1000 Customer Cash is available towards leasing or retail purchases and may not be combined with 0% - 3.9% APR financing. APR must be financed through Ally Financial Inc. See participating dealer for details.

Comments:
Dealer participation may vary. Incentives and Rebates are provided subject to the terms of our Visitor Agreement.

Finally you can use sites such as Edmund's, Truecar.com, etc. to figure out the best pricing for whatever you decide to purchase. Good luck.

Right on jeep.com website. Use the build your own tab and it should show the $1k discount.

Thanks, I see that as stated in my post #5. So far I haven't found any length of time or exipration date for the incentive/rebate though.

For us here in the Golden State and probably other states as well, $1,000 cash allowance or 0.0% 36 month financing expires 01/02/12 on 2012 Grand Cherokee.

There must be something wrong with me? Post #11 and 12 seem to contradict one another. In using the link provided in #12, I still don't see any time limit anywhere for this offering. What are you guys seeing that I'm missing?

Just went on Jeep.com. On the 'Build Your Own' site, there is no rebate or incentive currently shown?? What's up with that?
