Coolant Fluid on 2015 Overland

Hi Everybody,

At the NC beach over the weekend and recognized coolant fluid in the drive way (see attached pic). It was dripping from the front plastic cover and can be traced to to front closer to the radiator. Shop appointment tomorrow, but wanted to see if somebody had feedback on this.

This is a V6 with 72K miles on it.

At the dealer now. It might be a leak in the transmission cooler.

Ok. Now it's getting interesting.

I need a new radiator since it is leaking on a side weld. How can that happen? Total price $1,100.

You may have had one with weak solder/weld from the factory that cracked after 72K miles of vibrations. I hear there has been quite a few transmission cooler leaks from this, dunno about radiators.

Thanks Coldcase. I have already contacted FCA to file a goodwill case.

Let's see if they stand behind their product. Leak in a radiator after 72K should not be a 2017 issue anymore.

Anybody else out there with a similar problem.

At about 60k miles on my 2014 JGC Overland hemi, I had a small leak at the water pump gasket, so the dealership replaced the water pump and gasket under warranty. During that repair, they discovered a very small leak in my radiator at the crimp joint between the tank and the center portion. It happens. The radiator was replaced under my extended warranty after a $100 deductible. I wasn't impressed by the choice to use plastic for the upper and lower tanks and aluminum for the center fins. I'd pay a few bucks more for an all aluminum radiator.
