Check Engine Light

I have around 2800 miles on my 2012 grand Cherokee v6 and I got a CEL. I was a mechanic before I joined the military so I checked the o2 sensor, gas cap is tight. I even made sure the oil was good and it was perfect. I have a appointment Monday at 7 am but was wondering if anyone on here had any suggestions on what it might be ? Thanks

I get that warning when I press ignition once(Without the brake) with my driver door open, goes away when I close the door. Any explanation for this ? The car has less than 500 miles.

I can't pull the code myself but I will have the tech do it Monday. Funny thing now is I want outside to wash the pollen off of it and my wife came out and sound my exhaust stinks. I smelled it as well. It almost smells like a combo of burnt oil and a metal smell ? But the oil isn't burning it is at perfect oil level. This is getting interesting to say the least. Plus it's bumming me out

On my 2005 LJ rubicon I turned key on and off 2 times and got the code? Don't know if this works on GC because I'm still waiting for mine.

I had my first check engine light last month around 26,000 miles. It was a collapsing PCV hose... and bad valve apparently. Replaced and good as new. Still annoying to have to take it in...

Would be nice if could display on EVIC, it is capable. Is intersting that I can do full code and parameter display on the dash of my '88 Buick but need a tool for a '12 heap.

Have both Android and PC capability now, (PC: $30, Android: $22). Want to play with more of the different programs I have (OBDwiz does not work with my Bluetooth) but planing to put together a DIY page. Looking for ideas on a dash mount for my 10" G-tablet.

Note: If the radio options provided either Android capability or a way for a different device to use the display, they could sell a lot more. We are just at the start of technology collision. Isn't it wonderful ?

ps I do not like many things the gov does but mandating OBD-II was a great idea.

pps at an airshow with my 30 mpg RV. Still March and nights are nice but need the a/c during the day.

Update from this morning : Well I take it in for service on Monday so I went and put some gas in her. The JEEP has no power whatsoever and HEMI guys give me a break with the v6 jokes lol. So I filled up halfway and starting to drive her home, She totally feels like she is running on 2 cylinders and doesn't display ECO mode when you are cruising or let off the gas. Stranger yet is that the engine sounds fine with no knocking, oil is still good checked it for the third time. I can't wait until Monday morning to take it up there. Right now it makes me wish I would gave got another HEMI or another RAM.

I love these sort of posts and the associated discussion. I just wish that people would close the loop and post after their problem has been solved. I have the same issue here in 2013 and would love some insight.
