changing reverse light to led

do you need 2 bulbs for each side?

The backlight is of two parts.
One part on body and theres another part on the trunk?
Is it on bulb or two? 1 on the body and 1 on the trunk?
or is there no bulb in the trunk?

4 bulbs all together.

2 for the outer taillight housing,
2 for the inner tail light housing.

They are not the same bulb number either. Putco makes a great drop in LED for us.

not sure what year you have but this info is for 2014+:

For the reverse LED's you need 2 of each of these:

(2x) 7440 (white without canbus)
7440 Putco Plasma LED Replacement Bulbs

&

(2x) 921 (white without canbus)
921 Putco Plasma LED Replacement Bulbs

You need 2 921's and 2 7440's. (At least on the 2014+ not sure about 11-13)

Yea you just have to pop off the plastic cover on the inside of the tailgate and disconnect the lights for the cargo area .

Yea it's very straight forward once the plastic covering is removed from the tailgate. It is held in by Pop off clips they require a nice solid tug to Pop loose.
