A/C System "Knocking"

So, my title might be a bit misleading but not sure how else to title it. I am hearing a knocking under the hood which sounds like one of the pulleys is lose or going bad. The only one that has any wiggle to it is the one that is on the A/C system, which would make sense since I don't have any cold or even cool air at all.

This is on a 2012 3.6L Pentastar WK2. I also recently (December or January) noticed that my electric fan had taken a crap on me. Well, funds were tight and I couldn't afford to replace it, just recently acquired a unit for MUCH cheaper than I had originally found/been quoted and will be replacing it this weekend (any tips, ways to make it even easier?). But, now the knocking has started. It has slowly gotten louder and louder, worse and worse for about a month now.

I guess my question is, is this a common thing or am I just one unlucky mofo? I bought extended warranty for powertrain but NEITHER one of these problems is covered by the extended warranty or even Jeep's personal warranty.

The AC will not produce any cold air without a working efan.Fix the fan first then diagnose your AC problem, otherwise your spinning your wheels. After the fan is in,take the belt off the AC pully and fully examine it,spin it,etc to see if its the pully thats bad.
