I have done a lot of searching and have disassembled all under dash on boith sides to check actuators. All ar working but when I have th A/C on and using it for an hour i loose all air flow to the driver side. the passenger side is fine. when I let the truck sit for a bit it resets and works fine again.
any one have this happen?
any help would be greatly appreciated.
Mine used to do funny things like that once in awhile when it was newer. I cycled through all the modes including defrost and recirculate and it would clear up. Its been fine for three years now.
CC, don't know if this works 100% same on 2011 but here is the WJ recal procedure, maybe worth trying? I know it recals by itself every 25 (?) cycles or some set interval but...
To calibrate the AZC (Automatic Zone Control) - HVAC system
Turn the ignition on.
Set the AZC to automatic.
Turn off the ignition.
Remove the IOD fuse from the PowerDistributionCenter. Or you can disconnect the negative battery cable. Wait several seconds (about 15 or 30), and then install the IOD fuse or re-connect the negative battery cable.
Turn the ignition on. Do Not touch any of the AZC controls for at least one minute, to allow the calibration process to complete.
Does any one know what controls air flow through the A/C vents but only allows air to flow through the passenger side. I have replaced blend door gear on passenger side and fixed one problem. When I start vehicle air moves through passenger and driver side then after awhile the air flow stops on driver side but blows on passenger side?
confused?
Yes. I have the Laredo X edition. Duel climate controls.
Is there a door that controls left to right or is the driver side blend door dropping off the gear and hanging in the middle and then the air moves to all the ports?
Ok well have tested some more. Removed the mode door actuator to test all and it works fine. removed the gear from the actuator to turn the doors in side to defrost and vents etc. All work. Left the front vents blowing cold air and then 20min later to air flow from the vents? fan running and then i tried to change the direction of flow and nothing worked. So turned off the AC and left the fan running and then a few minutes later I had air coming through the vents!
could the ac coil be freezing up and causing the lack of air flow?
will try again tomorrow and when loose air flow with ac on will turn up heat and activate the blend doors and see if air flow comes back.
any thoughts on this would be good
thanks
Have made some progress. Have traced it down to the coil is freezing up and not letting the air through the coil and into the vents. Had a friend check with guages and it frozze up while we were looking at it. We belive the issue is some crop in the line or an orphis. Not sure what the jeep has , an orphis or x valve?
When I get it cleaned and re charged will put it to the test and finish this thread.
Thanks for all your help!:laugh2::laugh2:
Sorry if this is obvious but be sure to us new green a/c o-rings and Nylog Blue o-ring lube or equivalent.
good luck
oh, also, just making sure you are using a cabin air filter and if so it is a fresh one...
