My insurance had been good so far, but the weekend sucks because i can't take it to the shop till Monday. It looks good with a black trash bag taped to the window * rolling eyes* the broken glass scratched up all the interior panels, leather seats, door moldings........what possesses people to do this, they are just scum of the earth.

I'd love to catch someone like this in the act.

I'm not sure if the alarm went off, there weren't any messages on the display....
Your alarm didn't go off? Seems like it should have. Any indication why it wasn't triggered by the broken window?

I think I read somewhere that broken window will not always trigger the alarm. Its the vibration that triggers the alarm and also depends on the sensitivity of the alarm. Perhaps an alarm techie can shed some light on it.

Man, I feel your pain. I still haven't got mine fixed, it goes in the shop on Wednesday.

Looks like you have the laminate windows as well, they're tough to get in.

Gotta love laminated glass, I work with all kinds of glass and lami is my favorite. What I did when I had my 05, (had laminated) I added 4mm security tint all around, talk about tough! Highly recommend security tint to all. Its pretty much the same stuff they use for bumper protection and headlight lens protection. good luck to both of you.

From what i understand, there are two types, i don't know which models it comes standard on. I think Jeep labels it as a type of quiet road package, its supposed to dampen the outside noise level.

Jeep got the idea from Mercedes when they were joined at the hip and started developing the 2011 WK2 and 2012 ML at that time. I think the S class still has laminated glass.

This motivates me to get some dark tint... so people can't see inside the jeep to look for stuff. I know they can see through the windshield still but every little bit helps.

I am surprised that the ~5 impacts did not trigger the alarm, what is the use if it does not work in this sort of situation..... I'm sure it would have scared them off.

As others have stated, I feel your pain. Damn shame.....
As to the alarm, if the impact from that dent in the window frame (1st picture) didn't set it off, I'd say it's a pretty useless alarm system. I'd have to discuss that with the service dept. or better yet a Chrysler Rep.
