Anyone's screen turn purple when lift gate was up and in the sun

have a 14 JGC overland and was doing my sunday duty of vacuuming my jeep. with a strong overhead sun my lift gate was left open 5-10 minutes. when i got into the car i put it in reverse and noticed my screen had a horrible purple effect to it. i put it in park and then reverse, i turned it off and on and nothing worked. i ran inside and googled purple screen jeep and nothing, at this point in time, i assumed i burned out the equivalent of the cameras retina. 4-5 minutes later was back to the jeep and it was back to normal. had this happened to anyone else???
next time i will throw a rag over the camera if leaving open in bright sun for several minutes

I've had this happen to other screens that were LCD; a simple display on a home audio system that caught too much sun from across the room. It went away too, but probably not a bad idea to minimize exposure, don't know if it permanently damages over time.

Capacitors should be discharged regularly to prevent purple screen.

Glad the issue resolved itself.
