I like the rugged look of it and the grille does take a beating from bugs and debris so for me it should work. Maybe if I didn't have a dark green or a light colored GC I may not like it. I was skeptical but after the test piece, I think it will do fine. And if not....it peels off.

Thanks. I don't plan on hardcore wheeling but I like to camp and backpack and go on trails and some decent stuff like that.

guess I dont know what plasti-dip is... I used to have a can of "plasti-dip" that I used on the handles of my pliers... same stuff? If so, gonna be a pain in the A to get it smooth on such a big piece.
edit: also if it's thick, might cause fitment issues?? Line-X might look good too - same thicknes issues possibly.

There are a couple different plasti dip kinds. This one is in a spray can. It looks similar to bed liner but not as rough. Supposed to be rugged and add grip. I don't necessarily want it smooth like paint. I'll upload my test piece.
I also picked up my mopar slush mats on the way home from work today.

Thanks. I am on my fourth coats of Plasti Dip on the front and rear chrome. So far pretty good. I had to retouch a spot because the can tipped over on it and made a mark. Hopefully it will turn out ok! haha
Also hopefully my decals will come in today. *crossed fingers*

The Jeep keeps looking better! Nice work Jackal. I think the plasti-dip looks perfect, and I like the flat black look. Looking forward to seeing some pics of the whole vehicle once you're done. I see no downside to trying the plasti-dip...if it doesn't hold up just peel it off.

Exactly. Later on I can remove it and do an actual paint job and sand it and clear, etc but for now...it is perfect. I should be meeting up with some other Jeeps tomorrow so I imagine pictures will be taken.
Thanks, again!!

Well I took the Jeep out yesterday with some other guys from here. It performed well. I had to get pulled out but only because my tires are caked and just woulnd't grab. I am obviously not expecting to perform like a wrangler that is all tricked out. I cleaned the jeep twice and the grille isn't getting as clean as I was expecting. Maybe I put too much palsti dip on? It looks fine but there are some faint water spots. Windex helped a little. A pressure washer would help but I dont want it to take the plasti dip off. I am going to search for a better option or just paint it the right way later on.
Here are the pixeldecals.com American Flag and Grand Cherokee decals. Both are matte black and on each side.

Some of the pics from the trip taken by dwbrown and luisi. We went from Port Arthur to High Island near Galveston. I am uploading my pics right now but there are 160 of them so taking a while.
One of the pics shows me appearing to go around water...he didn't get the picture of me actaully going through it. Water only came up to the bottom of the door/rocker panel. We went through 20+ somewhat deep water holes. I tried to do as much as I could. The only things I really avoided were deep mud pits and going over obstacles that I just wasn't high enough for. Overall impressed with the WK2. Most of the time I was in 4Lo sand/mud. For the easier stuff like on just sand I was in 4High sand/mud or auto. I liked sand/mud more than auto and liked 4Lo even better. Never went faster than 15 in Lo/20 in High.

nice pics, glad the wk2 performed ok and could hang with the wranglers (at least for part of the time). We all know they wouldn't in the real rough stuff. Was that a cow running around on the beach?
