lol. Well...it is a regular tent (except for the built in metal bottom, built in pad, etc so it closes up completely. I would only worry about someone coming along and knocking the ladder down thus dropping half the tent.

The RTT probably wont happen until summer but I will post it up!

Before our CO trip in June. Lol

Trying to squeeze more life out of these tires before I buy my next set. Not happy with the passenger version of these tires. Probably only going to last 35k with regular rotations. At 31k now. LTs are the next set.

Sent from my underground lair.

I wish I would have paid more attention when I bought them but I didn't. Had a brain far I guess. I think I'll get Terrace Grapplers again just LT.

You answered this is another thread, but I figure I'll post here for others to see. I have a WK2 without the QL and my stock tire size is P245/70R17. I saw that you went with P265/70R17 after you purchased. Was that before you went with the lift and if I was going to go with that tire size should I have any problems?

Ordered a rear tire carrier from CBI that plugs into the hitch. Also ordered a Cobra 75 as a kit with a Wilson antenna, mount, speaker and meter.

Got the CB and antenna mounted and running. I am not a fan at all of the cable in teh door jamb. I am most likely going to drill a 1" hole , use a grommet and RTV sealant in the plastic that butts up against the grey portion of taillight. Won't be seen. I am having trouble tuning the antenna, also. I am sure I will get it eventually. The cable runs along the plastic and under the plastic and carpet from the OBA all the way to the front driver side where the CB box is located behind the center stack. The antenna is a Wilson 4' Flex and the CB is a Cobra 75.

Edited. No longer mounted to plastic. On the D post.

Very nice. I am doing the similar myself, abandoning the hitch mount idea. I am going to mount a bit higher though, above the tail lights, so the mount will be grounded to the cars metal.

That is my understanding. I have never had a tunable antenna before so I am new to that aspect. My readings are all over the place. Maybe it is because it needs a ground plane but I have not found anything to state that it needs a ground.

I believe it has to specifically say it is a no ground plane antenna for it to be one. If no markings then you'll need ground plane or maybe try to make it work by running ground wire (additional stuff to hide, yuk). This is the main reason why I went with the ngp version since our mounting points are non-metallic.

The antenna has a ground wire on it already. Nowhere does the packaging say to mount it to a ground plane or anything. It only mentions the ground as a last option if the swr readings are not achieved. I cannot find much info on my antenna regarding install.

So I bought a new antenna and cable! I bought a 3' Firestik 2 and the Firestik lo-profile cable. I also moved the mount to the body above the tailights. I am getting 1:3:1 on my SWR. Can't get much better than that!

The brain for the CB is behind the center stack to the right of the accelerator. It looks better than it does in the picture. This as mid-install.
